Late last year, Deadline confirmed that we are getting a WandaVision Spin-off titled Vision Quest, which is set to focus on The Vision played by Paul Bettany. Production is set to begin in 2024 and while we have some ideas, not a lot of plot details have been revealed.

The title “Vision Quest” is the same as a story arc taking place in West Coast Avengers #42-#52, but a lot of these elements were adapted into WandaVision, including the image of Vision’s disassembled body and reintroduction as the haunting White Vision.

However, new information has us pointing to a different Vision comic for story inspiration. Reliable scooper CanWeGetSomeToast has revealed on Twitter Vin and Vivian Vision will in fact be making their MCU Debut in Vision Quest.

Vin and Vivian Vision are the synthetic offspring of the Vision. They were first introduced in the Marvel comic series The Vision by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta and was published in 2015. The children were created as part of Vision’s quest to understand and replicate human life, a quest that also led him to create a synthetic wife, Virginia. The Vision family lived in the suburbs, attempting to blend in with humanity and live ordinary lives, despite their extraordinary nature.

Vin’s character, in particular, leans toward introspection and philosophy. He grapples with existential questions regarding his identity and purpose. His character serves as a reflection of the thought-provoking themes of what it means to be human and the lengths to which artificial intelligence can go in the pursuit of humanity.

Vivian, on the other hand, embodies a more outgoing and adventurous spirit, echoing the natural curiosity and rebelliousness of a teenage girl. Her story is laced with teenage angst, exploration, and the search for belonging. Vivian’s character gives the readers a lens to look at the human experience from a different angle – what it means to fit in and the struggle of finding oneself, even as a synthetic being.

This lines up perfectly with the report from Deadline that stated the series would “focus on Vision trying to regain his memory and humanity.” When we last saw Vision, we discovered that the version Wanda and the audience had been watching throughout WandaVision was a construct of Wanda’s.

It was then revealed that S.W.O.R.D. had taken Vision’s real body and rebuilt it into “White Vision,” who was sent to destroy Wanda. By the end of the series, White Vision had experienced some clarity and declared, “I am Vision,” as he flew away to parts unknown.

While no official announcement has been made, Elizabeth Olsen is expected to appear as Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch.

Vision Quest would be the second spin-off of WandaVision, after Agatha: Coven of Chaos, which will center on Kathryn Hahn’s popular Agatha Harkness. Both series will be overseen by Jac Schaeffer who served as the writer, showrunner and executive producer on WandaVision.
